Key Qualifications:

• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong receptive and expressive skills
• Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in school or educational environments
• Ability to interpret a variety of classroom subjects and activities accurately
• Comfortable collaborating with teachers, support staff, and families to facilitate communication
• Certification from national, state, or recognized interpreting bodies is highly preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and cultural awareness
• Organized and able to manage schedules and documentation as needed

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing real-time sign language interpretation during classroom lessons, school events, meetings, and other campus activities
• Supporting students’ understanding and participation by translating spoken communication into ASL and vice versa
• Working one-on-one or with small groups as needed to meet the unique communication needs of students
• Assisting teachers with classroom communication strategies and offering input to support students’ educational goals
• Maintaining professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions
