Supporting a full pediatric genetics team, the full-time Genetic Counselor Assistant will manage patient referrals, assist with clinic flow, and coordinate patient care while working closely with Genetic Counselors and other healthcare professionals. Key responsibilities Review and triage patient referrals for scheduling and other actions Interview patients to document personal and family medical histories Assist with the preparation and maintenance of medical records and patient pedigrees Required qualifications Six months of experience in a medical office setting with direct patient contact or one year in a high-volume public contact position Basic computer keyboarding skills, including typing 30-45 wpm Successful completion of a formal OHSU Administrative Internship Program may substitute for one year of experience Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with patients and staff Excellent organizational skills and customer service abilities
